Why our Leather is the sustainable choice
Leather is a sustainable choice for several reasons. Firstly, it is a natural material that comes from a renewable resource—animal hides from the meat industry. By utilising hides that would otherwise go to waste, leather production reduces environmental impact and promotes resource efficiency. Additionally, leather is highly durable and long-lasting, meaning products made from leather require fewer replacements, reducing overall consumption and waste. Furthermore, leather is biodegradable, allowing it to naturally decompose at the end of its lifecycle, minimising its contribution to landfill waste. Choosing leather supports a more sustainable and responsible approach to fashion and product manufacturing.
One of our key goals is women empowerment. Our target is to achieve 40% staff complement of women in our factory by 2027. We are currently at 25% now, we as well would like to achieve 50% of women in our upper management in key decisions making roles by 2027. We currently at 30% towards this target. We are also involved in youth empowerment programs, whereby we support a skills training program teaching youth skill in the production of footwear and leather goods. We support through providing the leather for training and starter packs to get them going at the end of training this in the form of a shopping voucher with our leather store.
